Supreme Court rules against UC student group that excluded gays

Justices say UC Hastings College of the Law did not violate the 1st Amendment rights of a Christian group. The school had denied the group official status because it refused to accept ‘all comers.’ A University of California law school’s refusal to give official student group status to a Christian society that excluded gays was a reasonable application of the school’s nondiscrimination policy, the Supreme Court said Monday in a 5-4 ruling.

Pope deplores Belgian church sex abuse raids

Gulf Governors Ask for Divine Help

It seems the governors of Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama and the lieutenant governor of Florida (where is Gov. Charlie Crist?) have issued a proclamation asking for their citizens to pray for a solution to stop the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico and for the recovery of affected industries.
