Mets Swap Ryan Church for Braves Jeff Francoeur
According to GM Omar Minaya , the Mets have traded Ryan Church for Jeff Francoeur from the Atlanta Braves. Minaya mentioned that Francoeur was the Gold Glove right fielder with a very good arm, and the player that “some consider to be the best defensive right-fielder in baseball.” According to Minaya, he finished talking with GM Frank Wren this morning, but the talks about suggesting the Mets to inquire about Francoeur started yesterday.
